An Overview of User Identification

There are six primary ways that users can be identified in NoahFace:

  1. Facial Recognition.
  2. Passcodes.
  3. QR Codes.
  4. Access Cards.
  5. Authenticator Apps (eg: Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator, etc).
  6. Mobile Devices.

Each of these options are explained in more detail below.

Facial Recognition

The NoahFace App is installed on a wall-mounted iPad.

Configuration

Simply select "Face" as the Identification Required and enable Registration Permitted on your Access Rule:

Then select your desired Registration Method (eg: "Passcode", "List + Admin", etc) on your Access Point Type.

Registration

Each employee presents at the iPad and registers (eg: by supplying a NoahFace issues registration passcode) and consents to the use of facial recognition:

If they consent, their photo is captured and their biometrics are extracted and stored.

Identification

Employees simply present at the iPad and they will be automatically recognised using facial recognition.

Passcodes

The NoahFace App is installed on a wall-mounted iPad.

Configuration

Simply select "Passcode" as the Identification Required and disable Registration Permitted on your Access Rule:

Then select a Registration Method of "Passcode" on your Access Point Type.

You can optionally turn off photos under Settings / Facial Recognition in the NoahFace App.

Identification

Employees simply present at the iPad and enter their NoahFace-issued passcode:

QR Codes

The NoahFace App is installed on a wall-mounted iPad.

Configuration

Simply select "QR Code" as the Identification Required and disable Registration Permitted on your Access Rule:

Identification

Employees simply present at the iPad and hold up a QR Code of their employee number, either displayed on their mobile device or printed on an access card.

Access Cards

The NoahFace App is installed on a wall-mounted iPad. Adjacent to the iPad you mount a Bluetooth enabled access card reader. NoahFace works with any any card readers that support the HID (Human Interface Device) protocol, including proximity cards (eg: Corporate 1000 cards).

Configuration

Simply select "Access Card" as the Identification Required and disable Registration Permitted on your Access Rule:

Identification

Employees simply present their access card to the card reader.

Authenticator Apps

The NoahFace App is installed on a wall-mounted iPad.

Configuration

Simply select "Passcode" as the Identification Required and disable Registration Permitted on your Access Rule:

Then select a Registration Method of "List + Authenticator" on your Access Point Type.

Identification

Employees simply present at the iPad, select themselves from a list of all users, and then enter the TOTP code displayed in their Authenticator App:

Mobile Devices

The NoahFace Go App can be installed on personal iOS and Android devices (see the Mobile Solution page to learn more).

Configuration

Simply create an Access Point Type with a Platform of "Mobile" and an associated Access Point.

Registration

Each employee is issued with a personal activation link which they receive by email or SMS. After they have installed the NoahFace Go App on their device, they simply click on this link to permanently associate the App with their identity.

Identification

Employees simply open the NoahFace Go App to be identified (employee devices should be protected with device passcodes or biometrics).
